This is another one I find particularly uplifting. I think that due to the place I grew up, I have an aversion to "Christian Music" that is stronger than it might be otherwise. I find most of it tritely written and lacking in musicianship. By definition I know it's supposed to be easy to sing and play along with, but that doesn't do it for me. I can have a more religious experience listening to avowed atheists like Mogwai than anyone on the Christian music charts. This is a huge generalization I'm sure, but that's how I feel.
Then I came across this album, and maybe the fact that it is a secular artist who is already concerned with the art aspect of music who is making a religious album is the differentiating factor here, but I really like it. It reminds me that art and God can go together, and in the best circumstances, will enhance one another.
